Before the Shoot: Prep List

GENERAL INTERIOR (ALL ROOMS)
☐ Clean thoroughly (dust, vacuum, mop floors)
☐ Turn on all lights & replace burnt-out bulbs
☐ Open blinds/curtains to let in natural light
☐ Hide all cords, chargers, and remotes
☐ Remove clutter from countertops, tables, and floors
☐ Hide trash cans, laundry baskets, and personal items
☐ Tuck away pet beds, bowls, and toys
☐ Remove family photos (if desired for privacy)
KITCHEN
☐ Clear countertops completely (leave 1–2 decorative items max)
☐ Remove dish racks, sponges, soap bottles
☐ Clean all appliances and sink
☐ Hide trash and recycling bins
☐ Make sure cabinet doors and drawers are closed
LIVING/FAMILY ROOM
☐ Straighten and fluff pillows and throws
☐ Arrange furniture neatly
☐ Hide TV remotes and game controllers
☐ Turn off TVs and computer screens
☐ Style coffee tables with a book or plant
BEDROOMS
☐ Make beds neatly (pressed bedding looks best)
☐ Clear nightstands (1–2 decorative items max)
☐ Put away laundry and shoes
☐ Remove items from under the bed (can show in photos!)
BATHROOMS
☐ Remove all toiletries (toothbrushes, soaps, razors, etc.)
☐ Clean mirrors, countertops, and shower doors
☐ Close toilet lids
☐ Hang clean, matching towels neatly
☐ Hide bath mats and trash cans
EXTERIOR (FRONT & BACK)
☐ Mow lawn, trim bushes, and clean up leaves
☐ Remove cars from driveway and curb
☐ Hide garbage and recycling bins
☐ Sweep porches, decks, and walkways
☐ Arrange outdoor furniture neatly
☐ Open patio umbrellas (if present)
FINAL TOUCHES
☐ Turn off ceiling fans
☐ Set thermostat to a comfortable temp
☐ Air out the home before the shoot (fresh air helps!)
☐ Leave the home at least 10 minutes before the photographer arrives
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
☐ Our photographers manipulate expensive
equipment that is bulky and/or makes strange noises
that can confuse and scare pets. Pets need to be
removed or restrained during the visit for the safety
of all.
☐ Our photographers work on a tight schedule, meaning they do not have time to arrange or move any items, so the property is expected to be photo ready.
